Abstract

This article is part of a master's degree research, which is in progress, and its theme is Occupational Health and Safety. As a delimitation of the study, it includes the analysis of the presence of the aforementioned theme in the curriculum of the Youth and Adult Education Course linked to Professional and Technological Education – EJA-EPT with Professional Qualification in Industrial Electrician, offered by the Instituto Federal Catarinense - IFC Campus Blumenau. The general objective is to analyze the presence of the topic of Occupational Health and Safety in the Course curriculum. Students who, within the scope of the course, learn to perform activities such as maintenance of electrical installations and electrical circuits of machines and equipment, need means or tools to ensure safety and health, as they are exposed to risks when carrying out these activities. To achieve the objective presented, documentary research and content analysis were carried out on the PPC, which guides the course's curricular structure. Finally, we came to the conclusion that the topic is included in the PPC, but it is developed transversally, with insufficient approach during the course. Therefore, we consider it important to have a broader approach to the topic within the curricular components of the technical areas provided for in the PPC.
