The study is characterized as qualitative and exploratory research and had its data produced from the testimonies of three YAE-PTE High School students who verticalized after having completed the school return via YAE-PTE Elementary School. The data produced were analyzed under the prism of Content Analysis. It is concluded that the subjects who accessed the YAE-PTE want something more than just certification, they want to appropriate knowledge. They want to occupy their spaces of rights, with the verticalization of education, with better spaces in the world of work, they want to live the hope and the possibility of something better. Therefore, the challenges and possibilities, based on the experiences studied, require the provision of quality public policies for YAE and YAE-PTE aimed at developing citizens and overcoming exclusion and social inequalities.
