Abstract

The reseach sought to report how EJA has been worked on in schools. The mais objectives were: 1- Undestand the EJA of reality and theory; 2- Identify the main challenges of EJA; 3- Suggest adjustments that consider theory and reality. The methodology was based on direct observation and application of questionnaires to teachers who work with EJA in elementar school. The results reveal that EJA students are mostly workers who seek better job opportunities and that main challenges are to adapt a specific curriculum for each phase of EJA, respecting the limits os the students, teaching time and the dificculties of daily life of adults returning to school.
