Abstract

This experience report has the general objective of presenting considerations about an activity proposed by the Educational Product (title) of the master's research (title) of the Professional Master's Program in Professional and Technological Education on a national network (ProfEPT). It was a meeting among teacher Miguel Gonzalez Arroyo and teachers (institution), whose central subject of discussion was the education that should be offered to young people and adults from the working-class. In this way, it was discussed, among other issues, who are the subjects of Youth People and Adult Education (EJA) from the Freirean concept of subject, the importance of culture linked to school contents, the need to reformulate the EJA's curricula from so that they meet the specificities of students from the working class, the urgency of overcoming the schooled view of the working student, and the conceptions of popular education. This practice aimed to broaden the understanding of the field of EJA in the perspective of emancipatory education. We conclude, from the reflections presented, that the conservative conceptions of education no longer supply the educational needs and rights of our times, being necessary the development of more just and assertive educational practices, to guarantee the education of the workers who return to schools through EJA.
