MULHERES ASTROFÍSICAS

POSSIBILIDADES PARA O ENSINO

Abstract

In this paper, we present possibilities for physics teaching based on contribution of five female astrophysicists: Henrietta Leavitt, Cecilia Payne, Jocelyn Bell, Vera Rubin and Andrea Ghez. The discussion of these female scientists in the classroom and their contributions to science aims to establish didactic situations of great value to promote a greater incentive for the study of physics, a greater search for scientific areas, especially for girls, and allow discussions about the nature of science aiming at more adequate understandings of scientific activity, particularly the role played by women scientists in the development of science. We briefly introduce each of these researchers and make some suggestions regarding their approach.
